also, in your browser you should be able to add any site/irl to the restriced sites list, ie has this and i believe it’s the same in firefox, opera and chrome and no one cares about safari…

The hosts file is just an text file, so you can create it using notepad. Open notepad and add entries like:

127.0.0.1 xyz.com
127.0.0.1 www.xyz.com

where xyz.com or www.xyz.com is the name of the site to be blocked.

Stay out of your hosts file. The purpose of that file is to convert host names you type in to the ip address of your choice. Better for you to block it with a firewall or in your firewall.

Can anyone help me come up with names for my characters?
I’m writing a story, but I’m having trouble coming up with good names for my characters. I need names from desert countries (Egypt, Arabia (?), ect.)
Please don’t tell me to check some place that lists names from them countries ’cause I already know some places to check, but I don’t want to go through some long list for names unless I have to.

Here’s some stuff about my characters and their current names (they’re all Japanese because manga has infected my mind XD) in case it’ll help.

Current Name: Rin/Rei Name Meaning: Cold or resevered/Ghost (I think)
About: He’s the main character and is an imortal, genderless being (though refered to and lives as a boy.) He can easily pass for either gender (for obvious reasons) and doesn’t show his true feelings often, usually putting on a casual front and he’s a bit childish. He looks 12 but is actually over 200. He has many powers.
Note: His name doesn’t have to be like the others.

Current Name: Natsu Name Meaning: Summer
About: He’s the younger brother of the king and the comanding general of the royal army (or whatever you call the leader of an army.) He controls water and his personality reflect that, meaning he’s usually very easy-going/goes with the flow, but when something truly angers him he becomes terrifying (usual when those he cares about are in harmed or threatened.)

Current Name: Sai Name Meaning: My son (I think)
About: He’s the king’s advisor and best friend. He controls earth/ground and is a very serious, intelligent person.
Note: His name doesn’t have to be like the others.

Current Name: Aki Name Meaning: Fall
About: He’s the king and controls the element air. He’s usually a calm induvidual but can become fierce. He’s a very doting father.

Current Name: Gertrude/Sasha Name Meaning: ??? (I never looked it up)
About: She’s a Roma and controls spirit. She was an old lady when she was known as Gertrude, but after making a contract with Rin/Rei she’s become a enternally young woman in her twenties named Sasha. She can see into people’s hearts and is very care-free and a bit motherly of Rin/Rei.
Note: Her anem can be a Roma/Gypsy name and I need a name for her old self and young self.

Current Name: Haru Name Meaning: Spring
About: He’s the prince and is only 9. He controls plants. Since he’s still a child he behaves like one and is very fun-loving and care-free. He doesn’t think before he acts so he can often get in trouble but his bodyguard helps keep him from getting into any serious trouble.

Current Name: Taiki or Taki (I forget which one’s right for the meaning) Name Meaning: Atmisphere (sp)
About: He’s the prince’s guard, closest friend, and big brother figure. He’s only 17, the second youngest of the group, but he looks older than he is. He looks intimidating, but he’s actually very gentle. He controls the beasts/animals (as an element) and has a strong love of nature and animals that most of his race share.
Note: His name can be something Native American.

I also need help coming up with a name for the country (which is a desert country if you didn’t figure it out) and the races.
The races are -
Trukin- Rin/Rei’s the last member of the race which was known for it’s pwoers and believed to be the children of Gods (which is where the name comes from. True comebined with Kin.)
Roma- Gertrude/Sasha’s race and based on the Roma/gypsies.
Nagain- Sai’s race. Known for their fair skin that never seeems to darken, beauty, and intelligence. (The names was just something that popped into my head.)
Unnamed- Taiki/Taki’s race and simular to Native Americans.

That is one impressively long list. Stay away from the Dune books–I HATE them. The Asimov’s are mostly great reads, but not disturbing. Maybe Elegy for a Lost Sun. Canticle for Leibowitz is a bit dated, but the ending is, depending on your viewpoint, either very disturbing or very hopeful. The Pern books are nice, but not disturbing. The Freedom series is not disturbing, except to those who hate such things. Acorna is interesting but not disturbing, same for the Dragon series (not as good as Acorna). 1634 and 1635 are part of a much longer series, with some historical things on religion that might annoy some people.

Biology courses at University ?
are there any courses out there that dont include biochemisty ?? i love biology but biochemisty is my worst nightmare and i cant find any kind of biology degree course without it …

You will likely have to take at least one biochem class as a bio major. Why? Because many of the biology related careers out there involves at least some biochemistry. Even if you aren’t explicitly using it, it’s helpful to understand the biochemical processes that are going on. Biochemistry is tough, but doable. Make sure you get help with the class.

Before I left my wife’s grave sight I got out of my car and walked back up that long hill to say a
final goodbye to the woman I loved. She’s located in Southern Missouri outside a quiet little town
with rolling hills filled with trees, and wild flowers. In the summer when you walk down to the
creek to throw a rock into it’s clear water, you’ll see all kinds of birds flying here and there sing-
ing their song for the world to hear. With all kinds of Mother Nature all around you the big city
sounds are far far away. Sometimes I play a game that I’m farmer back in 1822 taking a break
from a hard days work to put my tin cup down in the cool water that taste so great on hot July
afternoon. I want to invite all of you with a mind set on killing yourself to hold off until July the 4th.
That’s the day we stop for a moment to thank God we live in America the land of the free. You
know this land you walk on was paid for by many-many men and women who went into combat
just so you could go down to a stream and sip a cup of water on a hot summer day. Come on
out here to the Mid-West and drink as much of our free water as you want. I’ll bet you $1.00
you change your mind about pulling that trigger my friend. I’ll bet you come up with an idea of
how when you get back home you can try this and that so maybe that problem of yours kind of
fall way far back in your mind.

Heck, look at me ! I took that .45 cal pistol away from my head and put back in it’s hiding place.
Then I waited until around 5:30 am and went to 6 o’clock church for two weeks. I asked God
for a wife and kid’s. Ended up with a beautiful woman and 5 fantastic children.

Ask God what He has planned for you? And remember… it may take a bit of time before He get’s
things all set-up for you. Then someday you’ll be like me. Sitting here remembering all the events
that took place after the night you almost pulled the trigger (or whatever).

Hello there, Tom. This truly is a wonderful story. I’m sure that a lot of people needed to see something like this, it’s a very inspirational piece of writing. I am extremely happy for you, you’re strong for overcoming your misery and making something of your life. It takes courage to stand up and help yourself and others. I hope that this comforts people that feel scared and alone, because we all do at some point in our lives.

Edit: Tunuviel: I’m not religious either, but I think the whole point of the story is great. You don’t have to be religious to find comfort in life, but I’m glad he found something to live for.

Suicide is a thing that’s so frowned upon in this society, but honestly, life isn’t for everybody it really isn’t. life is like animal porn not everybody will enjoy it. It’s sad when kids kill themselves ’cause they didn’t really give life a chance, but life is like a movie: if you’ve sat through more than half of it and it sucked every second so far, it probably isn’t gonna get great right at the very end for you and make it all worthwhile. No one should blame you for walking out early.

Do you think that Radar in Multiplayer Shooters is bad?
I think the whole radar feature should not be included in every game. I like not knowning where the enemie is and vice-versa i don’t like them knowing where I am. I know that most of the time its all about motion sensor b.s. but Now i can’t sprint or else they will see me behind a wall on a map? I like the environmental factor of playing.. like hearing footsteps and distant gunshots. If todays gamer had to go to war… they would need a little radat thing… and the second the look at it there dead. I think that radar could be easily replaced by a better noise guidance hud…

The louder the noise… the more define the the direction. And different icons or whatever for distance compared to your position.

I don’t think that Radar helps noobs either, my father will play (lol hes a noob for life) and he says he can’t pay attention to radar because hes too foucesed on staying alive long enough to see whats in front of him…

And the radar gives all of the more experienced players the better of a chance at a free kill because most noobs will shoot at first sight of an enemie and they will sprint all of the time. I think in shooting games, there should not be radar.

I have played MW2 and understant the whole perk thingm which is cool… but if there wasn’t radar.. you wouldn’t have to burn perks to keep away from it.

Also, i was thinking about the people who don’t have good sound systems, thats why i said to have a defined hud incorpoated to navigate (if you will) to the closest-last-know-noise direction of the given enemie. So you could play muted and still be directed.

I think personally it all depends on what game your playing, for example on modern warfare 2, you can add perks to your classes that make the enemies UAV (radar) useless, like cold blooded, and ninja.

Also in order to accurately determine where someone is on a game by listening to gun shots and foot steps, everyone would need a good quality surround sound system to tell when someone is behind you. I must admit the radar isn’t ideal, but unless you have as i said, a good quality surround sound, a radar is the only way you can tell where the enemy’s lie. I hope this helped

Sorry for not reading properly, i think if there was some kind on hud system then there would be no need for a radar, however this would be a good idea on only old fashion sort of games such as battle field, because for games like modern warfare 2 the whole concept of it being "modern" is that it has the latest technologies, thats why they include the uav.
