Exorcist: The Beginning (2004)

Plot: Father Lankester Merrin thinks that he has glimpsed the face of Evil. In the years following World War II, Merrin is relentlessly haunted by memories of the unspeakable brutality perpetrated against the innocent people of his parish during the War. In the wake of all the horror he has seen, both his faith in his fellow man and his faith in the Almighty have deserted him, and he can no longer honestly call himself a man of God. Merrin has traveled far from his native Holland in a desperate attempt to try to forget and escape all the evil that he had witnessed there. While currently in Cairo, Egypt, he is approached by a collector of rare antiquities and asked to participate in a British archeological excavation in the remote Turkana region of Kenya. They have unearthed something extraordinary and unusual…a Christian Byzantine church dating from the 5th century, long before Christianity arrived in East Africa, and in inexplicably perfect condition–like it had been buried immediately after it was completed. The collector wants Merrin, an Oxford-educated archeologist, to find an ancient relic hidden within the church before the British do. Interested, Merrin agrees to take the job. But beneath the church, something much older and malevolent sleeps, waiting to be awoken. When the archeologists start excavating, strange things begin occuring, and the local Turkana tribesmen who were hired to work refuse to enter the site. Things only get worse and worse, ultimately resulting in madness and death. Merrin watches helplessly as the atrocities of war are repeated against another innocent village–atrocities he had hoped and prayed never to see again. The blood of innocents flows freely on the East African plain, but the horror has only just begun. In the place where Evil was born, Merrin will finally see its true face.

Are Ghost Real or just fake or peoples imagination?
Me and my sister were staying up all night just for fun, and we were at my grandmothers house, her house is strange very old and not much has benn done to the place in a long time, anyway we were playing on the computer when we saw this cool website that lets you watch movies for free so we were watching movies up to 4:00 in the morning. so the next day we wanted to do it again because it was because at home my mom would never let us do that, so we turned on the computer and began watch movies all of a sudden i saw a face right beside me, if you ever watch the exorcist, you know that face all pale and scratched, well that sort of the same face i saw but except that her face was not scratched but i as pale she smiled at me not in a scary way i wasn’t scared though but i did rub my eyes continuously because i thought i was dreaming but i was still there so i tried rubbing my face one more time and i was gone. the funny thing is that i saw her face but not her body, so the next day i say to myself that i was not real it was probably me because i had no sleep, so then my sister comes up to me and says that she had something to tell me so i look at her and say i have something as well to share with her and i tell her that yesterday while w were watching the movies i saw something creepy and then she added that she also saw something except that it was on the computer and she could only see half of her face but it WAS not a very pleasant smile
First off, I prefer to call them spiritual entities and not ghosts. Ghosts exist only in the world of celluloid and make believe.
Spiritual entities are very real, after all you are one except those whom you are referring to are no longer incarnated in their bodies. They have passed through the portal known as "Death" and now are wondering this earth attempting to finish some business which they left undone while incarnated – a monumental task in their condition.
Finally, the imagination of people does enter at the point of their seeing, hearing, or feeling a spiritual encounter. The mind interprets all these sensations and then we try to use words to describe the emotions and sensations which vary from person to person. When telling a story, no one tells it the same way, which is why interrogations on TV are portrayed as being told over and over again.

i dont believe in ghost but there is a such thing as spirits..and what you and your sister saw was a spirit..and it could be a spirit that is in your grandma’s house.. if u feel uncomfortable about it pray to the lord and say i rebuke you in the name of jesus and it WILL go away..

I can’t make up my mind wether they do exist or not despite the fact that all evidence points to yes. I think I am just too damn scared to say yes because then I would have to move on the the next question which is are they good or bad?

Unfortunately some people think just because I have not seen a ghost means they are not real.
The truth is they do exist. There are as many as 5,000,000 Wiccan just in the United States and we have a very special day each and every year where we make a special potion and cast a spell that lets us communicate with our dead relatives. We ask for them to protect and watch over us. Sense the last time I celebrated that day I have had seven ghosts protecting me. How do I know it is seven? Because I can see and call them, and I do talk with them now and then.
I am a Wiccan witch and have been for 29 years. In my coven I am the High Priest, and I do have a High Priestess.

That is a question that has been around for as long as human beings have existed. Some people will just tell you they’re not real simply because they’ve never experienced anything paranormal. Some will dismiss the thoughts of ghosts because they can’t fathom something they can’t see, smell, hear, taste or touch. Just because we often can’t distinguish them with the laws of science doesn’t necessarily they don’t exist.
In my belief, when a person’s body dies their soul is released and passes onto a separate dimension, a dimension where physical needs, scientific laws and time does not exist. I think they go to a spiritual realm. However, there are a few instances where a life is cut short accidentally or revoked through murder and such. In certain cases the spirit of the person could remain behind for some unfinished business. If the purpose was so important to them their soul could remain caught between dimensions until the matter is finished. Until then the entity will remain and unable to pass into the afterlife.
What you saw could possibly be distinguished as a ghost. If it was the spirit of a restless soul the encounters would be common. Hearing things go bump in the night and such. The ghosts often try to send signals to let someone know they’re there.
But there is another form of spiritual entity that the face you saw could be explained as. Not an angel or demon, but a spirit guide. Spirit guides are often referred to as "guardian angels", when in fact all they do is watch over us, but very rarely interfere.
I do believe in the paranormal, but I understand that not everybody can see ghosts. It would take a person with some amount of ESP to see them. If one’s sixth sense is powerful enough they may even be able to communicate with them.
If you do believe it was a ghost, do not be frightened; I have never heard of any cases where a person was killed by a ghost. I don’t really think it could happen. If ghosts are caught between dimensions, how can they harm us?
