Have you seen the movie "The Ice Pirates"?
It’s from the mid 1980’s and it’s about pirates in space who fight knight looking dudes and steal ice (because water is rare in the future…and why not? water is the most abundant resource…for now. muahahaha!) from ships. There are unichs and robots and sword fights and time travel. It’s cheesy beyond cheese!

I love this movie because it’s so crazy and so much fun! I attended a science fiction convention once at which Ron Perlman was a guest. He noted his surprise at seeing a guy running around in a reproduction of his costume in "The Ice Pirates". He said, "I didn’t think anyone remembered that movie!" We assured him that we all had seen it. I watched it a number of times but haven’t seen it for several years.
Everyone seems to be having the time of their lives, which really helps this a lot. I can think of a dozen crazy scenes as I write this, including the parts where they’re on the conveyor belt and the fight when everyone keeps aging, with Urich’s son (played by Urich) getting old enough to fight alongside his aged father.
"The Ice Pirates" succeeds in what it set out to do: to be a funny, dopey science fiction movie.
