Something about Rei Ayanami?

I was browsing C & A but there weren’t a lot of questions to answer so I thought i’d ask for a change.
1. Is it me, is it coincidence, or are there really way too many ’sexy’ rei ayanami (from Neon Genesis Evangelion) pictures on the net? She’s one of my favorite characters so i used to search for a pic every now and then and most of the time, more than half of the image results show a pretty ’sensuous,’ if not, half-naked Rei.
2. If there really are a lof of ’sexy’ rei pics on the net, why? I mean, i don’t recall her ever trying to be seductive or something though i know that a lot of other semi-innocent characters get portrayed in a sexier manner than their original anime counterparts in fanarts. Is it purely coincidental or some sort of strange anime cult?

Do guys these days usually call someone they know ‘man’ or ‘mate’ regardless whether they’re a guy or not?
I’m just wondering coz in some of my answers, they were like ‘thanks man’ or ‘thanks mate.’
Nothing offensive. Kinda amusing actually, but i’m just wondering if it’s something generic or do i just sound like a guy.

It’s seems to be a common occurance with any shy/conservative/emotionally cold anime character to get loads of sexy fanart. Probably just people looking for a challenge or feeling that the original artists were missing out on an opportunity for more fanservice.

Yeah, a lot of guys finds this girl to be hot. Cammy and her have something in common. They are both slaves to their bosses and you don’t know what they do behind closed doors…probably playing uno or sorry. Maybe even video games. lol
My friend actually uses dude. lol Mate is use in anyway, for someone you know and don’t know.

Yea ive realized that as well. it might be from the movie i forget which one but she was naked i think and there is a huge fanbase of her more than aska. i guess it was like a treat for the rei ayame fans and they kept wanting to see more so they edit pics so they can see more.

man = mate lol man normally means man in race as in humans (i learned this through latin 
) so that kinda explains it. man doesnt have a gender.even in latin man is neuter. it’s just something that we havent let go of but most dont know it and do it unconciously;O
well thats my reason for people saying man with out gender

>>I’ve noticed too. Those are fanart, basically. The original creator always drew her in her Evangelion suit, and she’be covered in bandages, which I think its attractive on her and on some other characters.
