when it comes to the safety of young chidren, fire is a parent’s nightmare. just the thought of their young ones trapped in their cribs and beds by a raging nocturnal blaze is enough to make most mothers and fathers take every precaution to ensure their children’s safety. little wonder that when fire-retardant children’s pajamas first hit the market, they proved an overnight success. within a few short years more than 200 million pairs were spld, and the sale of million more were all but guaranteed. for their manufacturers, the future could not have been brighter. then, like a bolt from the blue, came word that the pajamas were killer. the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) moved quickly to ban their sale and recall millions of pairs. Reason: the pajamas contained the flame-retardant chemical Tris (2,3-dibromoprophyl), which had been found to cause kidney cancer in children. because of its toxicity, the sleepwear couldnt even thrown away, let alone sold. indeed, the CPSC left no doubt about how the pajamas were to be disposed of buried or burned or used as industrial wiping cloths. whereas just months earlier the manufacturers of the Tris-impregnated pajamas couldnt fill orders fast enough, suddenly they were worrying about how to get rid of the millions of pairs now sitting in warehouses. soon, however, ads began appearing in the classified pages of WOMEN’S WEAR DAILY. What is so dangerous about being emotionless?
Having no emotions at all, some say it’s dangerous, because psychopaths are (supposed/thought of to be) emotionless. But without emotion, a human has no reason to hurt, or kill others, as he/she does not gain advantage from it.
Maybe he would like to kill because he does not care about people; but then again, is "not giving a prick" about things the same as "being emotionless"?
And physical violence mostly originates from fear, anger, and even serves and to experience pleasure/feel better. Therefore, violence originates from, or is used to achieve emotions. Therefore, no emotion means no reason for violence.

As example, think about (if you know him) the android "Data" from "Star Trek: The next generation".
he is emotionless, but poses no threat do anyone by far.

So, could a person with no emotion, but with pure logic (and maybe even a strict moral code), be dangerous?
to vehred: I must admit emotions have good sides, but they also contribute a lot to bad aspects.
I mean, some people’s lives are seriously impeded by emotions like guilt, sadness, anger, fear, depression, revenge. other people are so happy they don’t notice something could be wrong, and end up in trouble for something they could have easily stopped.

My point of view is this: whilst emotions have good and bad effects, logic has only the most logical (in this meaning, less harmfull) and therefore, can only have good side effects.

Consider the ancient greeks: quite a few of their "reasoners" considered logic quite important, more than emotions.

PS: I’ve never set a foot in America, and have never heard of those books. I will read them If I get the chance.

Ah, the old sci-fi theme. If you have not already read such classics as Brave New World, 1984, and Fahrenheit 451, those novels are practically required reading in American high schools now.

Aside from all that, I would say that an individual without emotions will do more harm to himself. Emotions are there for a reason. They alert us by giving us a "gut reaction" and help us to judge situations. Without emotions, an individual is simply running away from the important issues. Some consider a lack of visible fear to be a sure sign of cowardice, but claim that embracing fear allows a person to then focus on conflict resolution. Those who convey no emotions are met by others with caution because they appear "less than human." The bottom line is that it is safer to show a healthy amount of emotion and to keep it in check.

How can you get internships in Australia?
How can a student who is currently studying in Australia do an unpaid internship? Where would he have to look in order to find someone who would take him in as an intern?

To me it sounds pretty easy because you are doing a job pretty much for free. But my friend is telling me he’s having a lot of trouble finding an internship in a business. What would be his best chances of getting an internship? Just write to the businesses or just go by there in person and ask them if they may need an intern? Or would that not be appropriate?

Its difficult because it takes alot of supervision to have an intern – of an 8 week internship there is about only 2 weeks that you work at full speed with no supervisor – the rest of the time you have to be closely supervised and the supervisor time is taken away from their normal job. So while you are doing the job for "free" you are actually costing the business a considerable amount of $$$ (say 1/4-1/3 of the salary of your supervisor).

Unless there is an ongoing position – this is really a waste of time for a company to do unless there is an internal internship program where the best interns are then employed FT (like national accounting firms)

So Rose is an actress in the 20’s, and now 84 years later Rose Calvert is 100 years old and tells her grand daughter Lizzy Calvert, Brock Lovett, Lewis Bodine, Bobby Buell, and Anatoly Mikailavich the whole story from departure until the death of Titanic on its first and last voyage, and then to Rose all Titanic and the real love of her life Jack Dawson is all an existence inside of her memory, and Titanic is to rest in peace at the bottom of the North Atlantic from 1912 until the end of time.

hi i have a bearded dragon well now i just got another. but need help?
okay so i had this bearded dragon for about a month. she was very active but it feels like she is not as active. so she stays in one spot at certain times and then stays there the whole night until sometime the next day. so i was wondering why she does that and why she be more active. i have 2 basking spot lights and im getting the uvb fixture with the uvb light on monday. i will get a 51cm so 20 inches i think and the 10.0 bulb. i just got another girl dragon today and when i got her mines was bobbing her head and arm waving as submission. i gave them both food and my one i had for a long time never really ate but the new one did. then later that night mines meaning my old one went to the window tank and just layed there and did nothing now she will do this until tomorrow sometime like she is not active. i feel as if somethings wrong with her. but i really dont know. so if anyone knows can someone please tell me because this is getting me err because i want her to okay and not unhealthy. now when i set the other in they were doing fine and okay. now for my 2 basking lights i have a 75 wat and a 100 wat and the one who has been like unactive is been without uvb for like 1 month since i got her. now im going to get the uvb monday hopefully if my girlfriend keeps her word. Or she will go to the coner and lay there forever and do nothing. so just please help. i have greens i have crickets and i just got some small superworms. the breeder i baught her the first one from said she was 4 months now when i got the new one today the breeder said she looks 2 months like the new one i got today he said she was 2 or 2 half. so i believe my old one is as old as the one i got today because theyre like the same size. oh i have a 50 breeder tank. thanks and hope to hear some good answers from you guys!

as for you BD acting weird and not eating whenever two bearded dragons are introduced to each other they will act weird, for example when a male and a female are seperated and the male wants to mate he will basically not eat lol its kinda like him saying well if i cant be with her then im not gonna do what you want
when one of your females was bobbing her head up and down and waving her arm is normal behavior it usually occurs whenever mating is happening but its basically somewhat of them saying hi to each other
my main concern is you getting your uvb light, that is required for them to live but just get it as soon as possible
ohh and a 50g should be big enough for both the females
