1. I think this one is B, primarily because phosphoenolpyruvate is being broken down into pyruvate. A catabolic reaction is one where you break down a molecule.

2. I agree with you on this one. Energy is released as a product, so it would be exergonic

3. I agree with you on this one, too.

4. The delta G for the reaction would be positive if you have to use up ATP for the reaction to happen. Since the question is implying that you’re using 2 ATP molecules for this, you can eliminate all the negative numbers. This leaves you +7.3 and +8. The question also says EXACTLY 2 molecules of ATP. 7.3 + 7.3= 14.6. So the answer is D

5. It’s B. The substrate won’t fit into the active site if you change the 3d structure of the enzyme. It is possible that maybe a different one would start to fit, but the main issue is that the original substrate won’t fit.

6. You’re right, the answer is D. It’s called the chemiosmotic potential, and it has to do with the proton concentration across the membrane.

If you are bent on doing this….fire whomever took those horrid photos and get some that have some hint of quality. Hopefully someone that can pose you. Some of those photos are NOT flattering at all.

If you call saving lives, improving health awareness, and building a better democratic society the business of living in fear, then I’d say you’re sadly mistaken my friend.

You can point to all the other dangers in society (car accidents, cancer, etc), but a LOT of that is out of the hands of man to solve or prevent. You can spend more money on education and research, but in the end, you are playing a probability and not a "certainty".

It’s not quite the same with terrorism. On an IQ test, that would be the one in your list that doesn’t belong. There are many foreign entities just waiting for the opportunity to kill more Americans, preferably on a large scale. To ignore this threat because RIGHT NOW there are more serious dangers out there, would be a naive move with dire consequences.

All it takes is one nuclear bomb in any major city for your stats to change wildly. That’s why you cannot rely on them when making the decision to defend against terrorism. You cannot study the past and the current in hopes that you never need to anticipate the future.

In your country it is typical for business to profit of any kind of fear. If you think about those fears you ve mentioned, there is a "solutions" and "aids" for sale for almost all of them. What happens is that you end up buying something to decrease your fear at the time being.

Fear is business in USA, and it`s becoming the same here in Europe too. We are starting (with a help of europoliticians) with CE certificats for everything, and then we are forced to buy certain certificated things and accessories for every purpose from boat supplies to limonadestraw.

Well if you think of how America came to be. It took a lot of brave people to come over to a land unknown and establish colonies, and create a life. It took a lot of brave immigrants to leave their homelands, family, to come here and start a new life in hopes that it would be a better life. Being brave doesn’t mean not being afraid. With braveness there is fear. It’s putting aside the fear that makes people brave.It’s never the safest time. It’s good to have fear because it keeps people alert on the possibilities of what could happen in the event of terrorism, or some other atrocities. Having fear is what keeps America safe in some respects.

Mac iBook G4 – it won't "mount"?
I have had my iBook for 5 years, never had a problem, love it, though I know it’s old. Yesterday it was knocked off a counter to a hard floor, and now when it attempts to boot, it is unable to. A "target" start was attempted by a techie friend, and he said the diagnostics he ran state that the hard drive will not mount. He said it is not "spinning." I am not certain what that means, aside from the fact that it looks like a laptop funeral is soon to occur. My question is this: Is there any hope of retrieving some of my photos that were recently taken and were not backed up? If so, how/what is the best way to do that?

If your hard drive is badly damaged, unless you are willing to pay big bucks to a special company to retrieve the files, they are lost. You can replace the hard drive your self for under $100. Check out www.lowendmac.com for instructions. You’d need to reinstall all your software also.

Dog Problem?
My dog is having a problem and before i go to the doctor I want to ask here. My dog is having trouble peeing, and if she does pee, she pee’s blood. What Does this signify?

She is a girl, not spayed, but it’s not her period.

Is she fed cooked chicken meat with it’s bones intact? Fowl (chicken, duck, birds) bones when cooked easily crack into sharp shards which puncture the internals of your dog, and it may lead to internal bleeding. Not sure if it’s the cause or not, but do take her to the vet soon. you may want to get some of her urine into a container to have it tested….

It is possible to have more spin-off sequels but since the Chun Li movie did not sell well in the box office its going to take a good director and script for it to get green lit. It would take someone like Donnie Yen or Sammo Hung to be the executive producer and action director for the movie to be entertaining or profitable.

Dominican men and black women?
I recently traveled to DR on business, and I was pleasantly surprised by the bold attention that I received from Dominican men. I discussed this phenomenon with a close friend when I returned and she implied that the true attraction was financial, and that Dominicans only see their American visitors as prospective money pots. I really enjoyed myself and hoped to return soon, but I felt pretty stupid after that dose of reality and thought I’d get some opinions on the topic just to get things in perspective. Any thoughts?

Your friend’s absolutely right. Don’t let their charm and good looks fool you, it’s hardly ever genuine. I’m not a bad looking girl by any means but when I went over there a couple of months ago I had men fawning all over me as if I were a supermodel! I saw right through them but enjoyed the attention nonetheless.

As long as you don’t plan on falling for any of these men, I see no harm in having a good time.
